FELTasticDisplay

Just love my new DIY display unit for my lovely wool owl necklaces.
It seems they are resting very comfy up on the tree!

This wooden tree cut out was backed with a thick & hard commercial felt.
So, the necklaces can stay on,
but still easy to remove when customer wants to take them home.

HOW TO ?

1) Get a ready-cut out unit (originally a photo display) and thick & hard commercial felt
Make sure all holes are covered & cut the felt according to the display size

2) Attached the felt to the display at the back & cut lines within the holes

3) Use a paper clip to help insert the necklaces through the holes

4) Adjust & ready to go to the craft show!
+ Very attractive display unit for myself at home too!

Want a piece of this FELTasticDisplay too?
E-mail me & I can custom made one for you too!
...while supply last...

FELTasticStocking

Here's my very first handmade Christmas Stocking!

I have applied Needle Felt Applique to felt Merino wool onto the commerical felt by hand +
Machine Sewing to attaching commercial felt, fabric lining, cotton eyelet & polyester ribbons

This one took me over 3 hours from start to finish.
I think I will work on some simple versions for the upcoming craft shows.
Custom order always welcome.

If you like to DIY, check out the following step-by-step instruction:

HOW TO ?

1) Needle felt applique on the cut-out "stocking"-shaped commercial felt

2) Cut out matching fabric linings
The red exterior (back) lining is an inch longer at the top than the interior black lining

3) Fold the longer red lining inward near the top & hold both linings together with pin
Machine sew the red & black linings together

4) Machine sew the cotton lace ribbon (either ends only) on the applique felted piece

5) Flip the back side of the applique felted piece on top
with the exterior lining (red) in the middle & the interior lining (black) at the bottom

6) Machine sew all 3 pieces together
with the exterior lining (red) in the middle & the interior lining (black) at the bottom

7) Machine sew the polyester ribbon near the top

8) Fold about 1 inch outward & pin to secure & machine sew around the top

9) Flip inside out & needle felt to attach the cotton lace & commercial felt together

10) Now...Ready for Christmas Stocking!!

HALLOWEEN 2012

It's the time of the year again!

I love DIY my kids' outfits & just because I want to make them an unique piece

This year, my 3.5YR girl has been asking for cowgirl.
Luckily, I was able to find a good sparkly cowgirl hat,
so I begin my DIY project making her the cowgirl chaps
& a matching vest with the gold/silver embroidered commercial felt.

I also got my 7YR son a bling-bling Fedora hat.
Since he's very much into breakdance & MJ's "Billie Jean" outfit will work great!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Fall Season!

Here's an amazing scenic from my backyard! Love!
