For those who have been following FELTasticFashion project,

you may know that we have been creating COLORFUL OWLS necklaces over 2 years.

They became our signature fun & safe necklaces for many kids & mommies with babies!

Since my husband has started the DIY Kits business,

we also want to share the felting fun to more people like you & allow you to make your own!

We are calling them COLORFUL OWL with style code NFJ01.

Like NFJ02 "Braid n Felt"DIY Kit will come in different color options.

Check them out from retailers near you or make a request for custom package too!

MODERN OWL CHARM

Modern Owl (NFC15) Needle Felting DIY Kit is available at local retailers & ETSY now!

Story behind this modern owl :

Back in October 2012, 

when we participated at the Bust A Move Fundraising Event,

the very first modern owl was created during the DEMO session.

After that, a variety versions of this modern owl have been applied in Christmas stockings.

During the February 2013 Atlantic Craft Trade Show,

we have introduced many of our 3D wool charm DIY kits.

One of our US retailers noticed the original modern owl attached on the tote.

With our flexibility to create & prepare new DIY kits,

"Modern Owl" becomes our number 15 design for the 3D Wool Charm Needle Felting DIY kit!

CHRISTMAS IN THE AIR

Totally feeling Christmas is approaching !!

We had a wonderful mom+daughter (+cousin) girls trip to Halifax

 to enjoy French bakery, craft show & Christmas parade!

We started off at The Hydrostone Market (circa 1918)

with yummy treats at Julien's Bakery;

then found a beautiful steel dummy display at Lady Luck Boutique & Hydrostone Gallery

just perfect to hang all my wool charms;

after visited Bogside Gallery a few doors away to have a preview of many great art works;

and of course dropped by LK Yarns too!

Later we spend a good walk from The Loop Craft Cafe 

after dropping off additional FELTasticFun DIY kits (SOCK MONKEY!!!), 

then Halifax Waterfront, Seaport, & later arrived Pier 23 

to check out many amazing artworks done by NSDCC members.

My 3.5YR princess was so excited to see a painter in action as well as many other DEMO!

The Christmas Parade was 1.5-hr long

but thanks to Canada Post taking letters to Santa!

Colorful Fall leaves are all over the ground.
It's a special season to celebrate Harvest & Thanksgiving!

FELTasticDisplay

Just love my new DIY display unit for my lovely wool owl necklaces.

It seems they are resting very comfy up on the tree!

This wooden tree cut out was backed with a thick & hard commercial felt.

So, the necklaces can stay on,

but still easy to remove when customer wants to take them home.

HOW TO ?

1) Get a ready-cut out unit (originally a photo display) and thick & hard commercial felt

Make sure all holes are covered & cut the felt according to the display size

2) Attached the felt to the display at the back & cut lines within the holes

3) Use a paper clip to help insert the necklaces through the holes

4) Adjust & ready to go to the craft show!

+ Very attractive display unit for myself at home too!

Who says we cannot decorate pine tree in the middle of Summer?

This morning, I decide to hang this newly created ice cream ornament at mine in the front yard.

The FELTasticCharm project is so much fun & so many different options to work with.

This time, the inspiration is coming from the Twilly - 

a silk scarf that I picked up from my last Paris trip.

I love the fact that the Twilly always comes in a beautiful & vibrant colorway.

So, I needle felt a matching owl charm with similar color combination.

At the back of the charm, I also needle felt my own "H" last name initial too!

I am sure that I will create another charm with my first name initial "C" as well!

FELTasticCharm OWL FOR ME

After months of preparation for the road shows & many birthday gifts,

finally, I made something just for me...for my leather bag...

I love to dress up my handbags just the same way I put together a good outfit.

"HELPING HELD" OWL

This one-of-a-kind shocking pink owl with green/blue elastic cord is flying to the west coast!

Thank you to a gracious winner of the bid who helped in the "Helping Herd" 

- an online benefit auction for Chris and Christine Silver of Earth Art Cashmere

It was my pleasure to help raising funds to help the Silvers though this challenge

On Thursday, March 22nd, 2012, a fire destroyed much of Chris and Christina Silver’s farm near River John, Nova Scotia, and killed more than 40 of their cashmere goats--about half of their herd. While the fire caused only minor damage to their home, it also cut off electrical service to the house, so they have had to relocate temporarily. While the Silvers had been working on upgrades to their 150-year-old barn and adjacent buildings, the structures did not yet meet current building code requirements. As a result, the Silvers were not insured for their loss. In addition to this hardship, Chris has been battling leukemia. You can read more about this tragedy here and here

COLORFUL OWLS

Owl has been the most favorite animal in my house when I was younger.

My mom has collected numerous pieces of owl decorations. (Lost count!)

She even still keeps the owl 3D sculpture (plaster carving) that I handcrafted when I was 14.

After 20 years later, I am working on the OWLs once again - with the needle felting technique.

Thanks to my little princess modeling for these colorful owl felted necklaces!
