CREATIV FESTIVAL 2014 @WORKSHOPS

This is Cecilia Ho, our fiber artist & DIY kit designer, 

second year as Guest Instructor at Creativ Festival. 

 

A total of 3 felting workshops were offered during the event.

 Oct 23 : 3-hr Wool Felted Cake Keepsake 

It's nice to have a small group on Thursday morning.

Time flew by so fast & 3 hours is really not enough!

 

But glad to teach a group from local Ontario

PLUS one who traveled from NY to attend this class!

Oct 24 : 1.5-hr Wool Stocking (2D Needle Felting)

 

This is another fun class to teach a group

who never encounter felting before!

 

After their first try-out, they enjoy so much

& making something special for their special ones!

 

As a teacher, it's always happy to share what I know.

And always it's nice to know my students are happy about their works!

Oct 25 : 1.5-hr Felt-a-Tote

 



 

This was a large group with a whopping 15 students in this workshop.

 

Most likely Saturday morning class is the best schedule for most to attend.

 

We all had an amazing time!

Especially each can go through a big pile of wool fibers

& choose her own colors to create her own design & needle felt on the tote bag.

 

I wish I could capture all unique tote bags from everyone.

The more important is that everyone enjoys needle felting after all. 



 

 

 

CREATIV FESTIVAL 2014 @FIBRE WALK

 

We are back to our 2nd year to the Creativ Festival Oct 22-26, 2014

in Metro Toronto Convention Centre!

 

It's always nice to look through the atrium & at the CN Tower.

 

This year at Creativ Festival, our booth 923 will be an one-stop shop for

Felting DIY kit, Ashford NZ wool & Clover felting tools!

Plus 200 booths related to sew. knit. bead. stitch. quilt. scrapbook + more

 

 

 

 

Shopping days was Oct 24-26, 2014.

 

You can find an extremely long line up

with at least 300 people ONE HOUR BEFORE the show starts!

We are part of the Fibre Walk this year again!



 

So many amazing & creative works on display everywhere!

 

 

 

We are happy to share felting fun to more with our all-inclusive DIY kits!

 

 

We are extremely happy to meet those who purchased our DIY kits

 last Creativ Festival in 2013 & NOW love felting!

ALPACA OR MERINO

Which one you like more?

 

Depends on the quality of the fibers, Alpaca & Merino are relatively soft fleece among others.

 

Alpaca = 18 to 25 micron in diameter

Merino = 12-24 micron in diameter

 

Thus, Alpaca fleece, similar to Merino Wool, does not have the "scratchy" feeling.

 

"Any wool finer than 25 microns can be used for garments,

while coarser grades are used for outerwear or rugs.

The finer the wool, the softer it is,

while coarser grades are more durable and less prone to pilling."

Just came across a beautiful photo taken from my highschool classmate

who visited Switzerland earlier & took a close snap shot of the Bluenose Sheep!
