GRADE 2 FELTING FUN

Today we had a great time with a class of 20 Grade Two school kids.

We talked about Wool & Felting techniques (Needle & Wet Felting).

They all amazed how wool fibres turn into many interesting wool creations!

At the end of the workshop, each of them got to try wet felting.

Project #1 Felted Wool Ball

Everyone was given 3 colored wool fibres of his/her choice.

We found out red, blue, lime green, shocking pink & turquoise are their favorite colors!

Then, lots of hands rolling & rubbing action + many soapy water on the table too!

They all are very excited after having the loose wool fibres turned into wool balls.

Project #2 Felted Snake

Just a week or so earlier, we also did a Chinese New Year presentation to the same class.

We talked about Year of the Snake.

So we decided to make a fun felted snake as well.

This project is a little harder to handle but many were able to make theirs with some helps.

It's really our pleasure to share felting fun to young children.

For sure they will Felt It. Love It. Treasure It.

FELTasticCharm MEOW

Meow!

I don't have any cat, but I do have many cat lovers around me!

I needle felt this FELTasticCharm after I met the couple at the Kentville Farmers' Market.

They picked up a wool felt ball last Wednesday for their cat.

And then, they returned this week and picked up another one for their friends's cat.

They said it was a success & the cat loves playing with the wool felt ball I made!

I'm so surprised & glad to know about that!

This cute Cute Cat will be a great Needle Felting DIY Kit Candidate too!

How Peace Felt works?

"Sending out works of PEACE FELT during September will result in these handcrafted works of art creating an energetic circle of peace and loving kindness around the planet as they travel from one heart to the next."

This is my contribution for this Peace Felt exchange.

It will be sent to Michigan, US
to a lovely lady who is very active into Peace Group.

When I first work on the design,
I want to make a fashion statement piece because my FELTasticFashion background & I was thinking about the Olympic Ring colors.
"...the six colours [including the flag’s white background] thus combined reproduce the colours of all the nations, with no exception. The blue and yellow of Sweden, the blue and white of Greece, the tri- colours of France, England and America, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, the yellow and red of Spain next to the novelties of Brazil or Australia, with old Japan and new China. Here is truly an international symbol." -  August, 1912 edition of Olympique by   Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games.

I hope my receiving partner will Love It. & Treasure It.
